The business end of the Kwik-Trim 53 starts with a fiberglass reinforced plastic boom that ultimately gives the Kwik-trim a 53 foot reach. Ultimate reach in your industry is useless however without the ultimate in safety. The Kwik-Trim FRP boom has been dielectrically certified to ANSI A 92-2 category C Standards to 100KV.

The telescopic function is driven by a simple, long-stroke hydraulic cylinder for lower maintenance than chain and sprocket systems. The innovative, single reel design utilizing bonded twin line hoses provides reliable rugged service. The unique reel mounting configuration provides a clean, straight pull on the hoses thru out the full range of boom motion. This means no corners or idlers to go around.

Getting There is No Big Deal

The complete Kwik-Trim unit weighs only 12,000 pounds and can easily be transported without a lowboy semi. This also eliminates the inconvenience and expense of oversize permits and specialized equipment trailers. Additionally, when your crew enters a residential neighborhood, they will be able to take advantage of a more maneuverable, less conspicuous rig. Complete boom control means the operator can completely retract the boom from an operating position to a parked and transport-ready position from inside the cab. This also affords the operator maneuvering ability in tight spaces, and balance on steep terrains.

Providing the ultimate in agility and stability, the Kwik-Trim / Takeuchi platform delivers extraordinary maneuverability, allowing operators to safely approach and position the Kwik-Trim securely within tight job site environments and difficult terrain.

This stability and control continues right to the tip of the saw blade. The Loftness Counter-Rotating Control Drive System allows the operator to maintain precise saw position while rotating the track undercarriage.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Because Loftness understands the challenges faced by landscape and vegetation management operations, the Kwik-Trim was designed with minimal environmental impact in mind. It’s small footprint and low 3.9 PSI ground pressure, distributed on twin tracks, ensure minimal ground disturbance. Whisper-quiet diesel power and hydraulics dramatically reduce noise levels and also provides for exceptionally low fuel consumption.

COST

A stable platform in the field and on the spreadsheet

Because of its unique configuration and price point, the Loftness Kwik-Trim defines and fills the void between monster trimmers and hand-labor via climbing, lift trucks and buckets. Its compact size, however, should not be overlooked as it does have the capacity to perform most of the tasks monster trimmers now fill (at about half of the purchase price) all while reducing operating costs significantly.
